Indigenous Science or Health

The two-year Associate of Indigenous Science degree program in Environmental or Health Science provides students with a strong foundational coursework through a combination of classroom instruction, laboratory and field experiences.  The coursework will provide students with opportunities to develop the skills needed for entering careers in the environmental or health fields or for transferring to a four-year degree program.

Students who successfully complete the requirements for the Associate of Science degree in Indigenous Science with an Environmental or Health science emphasis will be able to:

  • Communicate their understanding of the natural world in both scientific and cultural contexts;
  • Demonstrate practical skills for living in a sustainable relationship with the natural world;
  • Demonstrate the skills necessary to become active participants in their education and community concerning relevant health and environmental issues.
