Interdisciplinary Studies

The Associate of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies program allows students to actively participate in developing a course of study most appropriate to their personal, professional and academic goals. Students who follow this program of study will complete the general education requirements of the Nebraska Transfer Initiative, as well as the additional requirements of LPTC, and will then choose two (2) academic subject areas in which to focus their studies. The Interdisciplinary Studies program allows students to work with their advisor to explore different academic areas of interest while tailoring their degree toward one or more career fields.

Program Outcomes:

  • Design and accomplish a academic plan based upon personal fulfillment and career advancement.
  • Develop critical thinking skills by discovering the linkage between different fields of study.
  • Apply skills from multiple disciplines in order to understand complex issues and solve real world problems.
